On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Rain and more rain (YAY!)

One storm won't end the drought here in northern California but every drop brings us closer. It's been raining off and on for the past three days with lots more forecasted this week. That makes me happy.

It also makes me want to cozy up to everyone in church, just to keep warm on these winter days, which is where I drew this picture. The little pen and ink sketch of Trinity Church, Sonoma has been on the cover of the bulletin for many years. Demi was asleep under the pew ahead of us so I drew her instead.

  2. Great doggie pose, did you use colored pencil for the background? Nice.

  3. Hi Patty - Yes, actually watercolor crayon. I colored it on first and then wet it. - Barbara
