On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

It's beginning to feel like winter

Brrrr! It was in the 30ºs during the night and upper 50ºs during the day. I scraped and scraped the windshield this morning before I could leave for Juvenile Hall.

But rain is on the way this weekend. First some light rains, then a brief respite before a real storm comes in across the Pacific Ocean. My kind of weather!

I just love the rainy season in northern California. I prefer corduroy and flannel and heavy layers of clothing with jackets and woolen socks and anything else that doesn't itch!

  1. I like this. I especially like how the leaves fold over and the shading. Nice!
