On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Bind it up

One of our grandsons stayed over two nights during the long Thanksgivng weekend. He's ten, a totally sweet kid who draws and enjoys crafts.

Because his drawing seems to be increasing in interest, I showed him how easy it was to bind an accordion style sketchbook complete with side ties. He ransacked my fabric stash and came up with this puppy print and I walked him through all the steps. I can't wait to see how he fills it!

  2. Nice work, both physically and as family. That's a great idea for a sharing project.

  3. Isn't wonderful when a grand kid shows interest in art and you can share it. Hope you have many more such moments.
