On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Thanksgiving Night

Whew! It's all over but the cleanup and even most of that is done.

Our son is on Maui with his wife and her family. Oldest daughter was here with husband and two sons. Youngest son (youngest grandchild) is staying for two nights. We have projects planned and this ten-year-old loves projects.

I baked the turkey and dressing, Steve did everything else -- twice-baked potatoes, green beans and almonds, several pumpkin and pecan pies, etc.

We began our day attending the community interfaith Thanksgiving Day service, always a local treasure, and I drew the altar area during the wonderfully, inclusive sermon.

Hope all of you had an equally meaningful day.
