On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Just truckin'

I keep trying to figure out how to use Prismacolor pencils and it's been a challenge. Here I layered and layered, used a white blender pencil and kept going over it all because I didn't know when to stop!

If I was forced to choose just one way type of subject matter to draw, just one, I suspect I would focus on botanicals.

I used to watercolor them often but this year, since I've wanted to learn other skills (such as adding people to the composition) I have drawn far fewer. That makes no sense if they're my favorite.

I finished this great primer - just what it says it is - on constructing mail art.

For me, any day is a good mail day if there's just one personal piece of correspondence in my mailbox. There almost always is because I write a lot of letters and send a lot of postcards. But mail ART, now there's a concept!
