On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Winding down summer

Most of the schools open next week so this is California's last summer weekend. I signed up for a figure drawing class that begins Tuesday afternoon. I'm nervous, but I can't draw people so I need the course.

My third sketchbook is an 8"x5" HandBook, the smallest size I've used. I like that I can toss it in whatever bag I'm carrying and sketch wherever I find myself. Here it was 1) tree trunks in a park 2) Demi at a gardening lecture 3) a zentangle at the same lecture. How handy!
