On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Grow, baby, grow

My whole head is focused on the garden I'm about to start. I want every possible vegetable and flower all mingled together, one square foot at a time.

I ordered the basic textbook, Square Foot Gardening, by Mel Bartholomew and can't wait for it to arrive. In the meantime, I want to get going in the preparation work -- which, this year, does not include straight row tilling!

Demi and I went to chemotherapy today. I was tired before, during and after and took an ultra long nap this afternoon. Now that it's bedtime I'm about ready to get my day started!

There's no school this week for me - spring break - so I had planned to return to my watercolor drop-in class here in town but slept instead. I really miss it, but I guess it comes under the category of you-can't-do-everything.
