On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Crisp, sunny Tuesday

Today's walking - 15 minutes with Steve

I hope you all had as nice a day as I did. I know we need that rain but these crisp early spring days are delightful.

I didn't finish today's class assignment - nobody did so we're continuing on Thursday. We're working on volume studies. I really need to practice that but here at home I just drew this feather instead.

Now that I know a tad more about birds, I can't help but wonder how big a guy this one must be. I don't know what it's from - a crow? something larger? Well, it's a long black feather, that's the only clue.

  1. What a nice drawing. So simple. I like the placement on the page with the writing around it.
