Hard boiled, not scrambled
It started raining late last night, rained all day, and now it's still raining with a new storm on the way. This is my kind of weather.
We average 31 inches of rain each year. The year is measured from July 1 to June 30. So far we're at about the ten inch level, only about a third of what we need - and very little, if any, will fall after March. So....even with all this rain and the forecast of rain all week, we're still woefully behind. (I know, I should have become a meteorologist, as focused as I am on the weather!)
Part of our homework, due Tuesday afternoon, is to draw one or more eggs. I understand that eggs are great for practicing shading and shadows, but I've never drawn one before and wouldn't have if it weren't for the assignment. This one is in my sketchbook, a practice piece before I draw the egg(s) I hand in for credit.
It was difficult. I had trouble getting the basic shapes. The left one was turned in a way that foreshortening was necessary but it still isn't quite right. There was an obvious double shadow that stumped me and the basic shading was hard. See -- good thing I practiced, right?
eggsellent! sorry, couldn't resist. But seriously - nice drawing :)
