On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Cloudy Saturday

I blog about my dogs all the time and, in real life, I spend a lot of time with them. There are three, all black labs.

Having said that, why don't I draw them, or when I do, why can't I improve? Well, it's another case of practice, practice, practice so I took some time this afternoon to sketch what was right in front of me. Demi didn't participate, but Parisse and Brix were available so I started with them. This is the best I've done so far, but I have a way to go.

A decision is going to be made tomorrow about the drought in California and what is required for conservation and more usage restrictions. The word is that this is a state emergency, as great as an earthquake or wild fires and we'll be expected to reduce by at least 20% - better than the 50% predicted before the rain started a few weeks ago. Improvement, but not enough. It makes me thirsty just to think about it!
