On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Sunday, quiet Sunday

Demi woke us with great urgency at 3:30 a.m. and then Parisse became insistent at 4:00. By then we were awake so we drank coffee and read the newspaper as soon as it arrived. Steve had to work this morning but I went back to bed and slept embarrassingly late. And I'm still tired.

Until it lost its hanging loop, this little teddy bear has lived on our Christmas years for decades. It's been grabbed out of several dog mouths, especially from Brix and Beulie. The basic outline was especially easy to draw, but I haven't had much experience with furry textures yet so was just guessing on that.

We're very traditional around here, the Christmas tree stays up until Epiphany, January 6th, so we're still enjoying it's last few days.

The furry texture looks good to me! Hope you enjoyed your lie-in ...

  2. I agree with marancat. The furry texture worked. Those quiet eyes say they could tell many stories of being kidnapped by dogs.
