On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Back to class

Today's walking - 20 minutes alone

Demi accompanied me to my Drawing I class wearing her new purple vest from Assistance Dog Institute. She was stunning and, in a three-hour class, never made a single sound. There is absolutely nothing she could have done to behave any better than she did.

The nice thing about this class is that it's for beginners and I'm not expected to know how to do anything. Today we learned about one-point perspective. The only homework is to draw a simple cube using that new skill, something I can do.

After that lesson we drew a composition of four umbrellas. It was hard for me so I practiced on this one for my journal page today. I would have guessed that umbrellas would be easy to draw, but alas, they are not!
