On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Nuttier than usual

By the time you read this Steve will be home from Italy where he was scouting out new venues for tours he leads (http://onpilgrimage.com).  In the meantime I've been trying to keep life together as normal and doing "a heckofa job" as disaster praise goes.  I thought I was being truly useful by having a plumber come in and take care of three minor problems while my husband was away.  So the plumber came, nice guy, problems solved, he left.

I followed him out the door and took the three dogs to their weekly play date and my weekly hobnob with friends.

Got home two hours later.  Was washing my hands and had this moment of disconnect.  As in, "If I'm washing my hands, why do my feet feel wet?"

Long story short, the plumber hadn't sealed a tap, one that's hidden inside a lower cabinet, and our entire bedroom was flooding.  This is several days later and there are still giant fans and humidifiers going, provided by the flood control company.  I wish I could say I've been sitting around drawing birds, but really, I've only been sitting around.  It will all be back to normal by Monday........

Good to know about your husband's biz! Very cool!

Get dry and stay that way!
