More than most people, I think, I crave solitude. So when I saw this image of an empty row boat I just had to use it as the backdrop for a collage of an isolated woman, adrift with her thoughts. Not lonely, just adrift. If you click on the image you can see more detail.
Parisse and I walked for an hour this afternoon. Parisse is my wonky dog, the one who is afraid of everyone and everything, the one who is finally learning how to walk in public. That she walked for so long, more or less willingly, and apart from her pack, it was all good and unexpected. I remember how we used to turn back after trekking past one or two houses and then she would crouch down, terrified and unable to continue.
I cannot wait for the United States presidential election to be over. Never have I witnessed an election season like this, one where we wondered for two years who might win. If you had asked me, I would have guessed Hillary Clinton had a great shot at it, surely she would win the primaries. I voted three weeks ago so there's been nothing left for me to do but watch CNN, mail in my donations and hope for the best. Only 48 more hours.....
I have never attempted collage but may have to have a try after seeing this! I was interested in your previous post and am wondering if this collage is from pieces that you collected over the past week?
ReplyDeleteYour collage has an eerie uncertainty, much like our country as we await the outcome of this political race.
