Like a kid with a new pencil box

Last night I sat up and finished Elyn Sak's riveting memoir, THE CENTER CANNOT HOLD, in which she describes her lifelong battle with schizophrenia. This was my page turner for the summer, I just couldn't read it fast enough and got into several discussions during the week about various aspects of the narrative.

Demi accompanied us to church this morning. I'm not used to drawing her. She has many positions similar to the poses Beulie held, but her fur is black and the shading is completely different. I'm struggling, that's for sure.




This evening I tried again and simply focused on her round snuggled up curl. I'll figure this out, I know I will!


After church Steve and I drove through my new campus. I found the Art Center where my class is scheduled, I found the bookstore, the cafeteria, the parking lot, the library and everything else I will need to keep myself entertained and busy during the semester. I am only taking a single course in art which will meet twice a week so this is a major production number over not very much. Class begins Monday evening and I am so very ready!
