On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Don't forget the apples

I finally finished my divided painting of fruit trees. I don't what pleases me more, the painting or the fact that I actually completed something! I'm legendary for starting projects with great intentions.

Beulie is still stuck in the kennels at Canine Companions for Independence and I'm starting to flip out about it. The folks who want to adopt her on on vacation and I can't contact them to notify them of her release.

I would gladly take her back myself until they return but I haven't been able to make that arrangement. Poor baby! Who wants to be stuck in the kennels after they've decided they don't want you!!!

But the good news is that there's been a major shift in the weather and today was absolutely delightful. No more 106º -- no more anything with three numbers!

  1. What?! I can't believe that about Beulie! We have been searching for a new dog to join our family. If we were still in Norcal, I would be begging for Beulie to come home with me!
    Good thoughts,
