On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

A fool's day

I continued my divided painting of flowers today in my watercolor class. There are four panels of equal size but only two are finished. This is the second one. I began the other two but they aren't ready to show yet.

Steve and I worked on the community bike path today and have it almost spiffed up for spring. There's just one section left to mow. Our section has a lot of wild flowers. I mowed through most of them but was very careful to swerve around all the California poppies, our State flower and an endangered species. Later I trimmed the weeds around each one to give them a chance to survive.
