On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

End of week 9

Today was such a low-energy day for me! I slept all afternoon in spite of all the to-dos I'd hoped to accomplish. But I wanted to add a page to my March visual journal/sketchbook and borrowed a suggestion from Dory Kanter's book, ART ESCAPES. She calls this "café art" in which she makes a simple contour drawing of an object and then swirls a line pattern on top of it and paints in each separate area. I used a Sharpie to go over the original lines to add some contrast, tidy it up and give it a stain glassy effect.

  3. That's exactly what I need today. I'm also feeling really low energy and want to do something art related. Thanks!

  4. Thank you for stopping by! The book I mentioned, ART ESCAPES, by Dory Kanter, has lots of motivating ideas so you can get something done when you really don't want to do anything! - Barbara
