On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

TV art

I watch too much television. When I'm on my deathbed I don't think I will wish I had watched more TV but I am likely to wish I had made more sketches. I can at least say that I rarely focus completely on the program, it's just on and I'm sitting there doing something else. Ideally I would turn off the TV. Second best is to make sure I'm sketching something while I'm "watching." So last night, at least, I did just that while I was tuned in to "60 Minutes," one of my favorite programs. One more page of Moleskine filled!

Great work! I do the same thing sometimes with the tv. I guess I just need the background noise sometimes.
