On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Sloggin' thru

I wish I could tell you that I've been painting great masterpieces or at least added little sketches to my journal but NO! I've skipped a couple days, too busy, too tired and overscheduled. But last week I did finish one great novel that I recommend, Sara Gruen's WATER FOR ELEPHANTS. It's a wonderful multi-level read -- a riveting tale, an allegory of the Biblical Jacob story, a statement on aging in America. I understand that it's currently the #1 best seller on the paperback list -- it deserves to be!
