On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Long neck

When my husband saw my newest watercolor he says, "Oh, a moo cow!" WRONG! It's a giraffe -- tell me that's what YOU saw when you first looked at it.

  1. I agree with Donn that the giraffe needs his lovely long neck. I have a wonderful stuffed giraffe toy and he has no neck and I can still tell he is a giraffe so I recognised yours from mine.
Lots of love from Susan in Australia
PS I pray for your continued remission

  2. Definitely a giraffe, and he's adorable! You might mention to your husband that at his age he should get eyes checked more frequently. *snicker*

  3. Oh Dear. I saw a cow. But now that you mention it, it does look more like a giraffe. I think its because we see cows more and our brains just latch onto the familiar first. Great cow but brilliant giraffe!

  9. Who are all these people who think a cow has such a long skinny nose? ;-) Great giraffe!

  10. It's a girafee--cows don't have those tufts of hair on the tops of their heads. Cows have more of a ridge. I love the sketch. Nice foreshortening of his nose. It really works.

  14. Definitely giraffe.
I wonder if giraffes ever get tired of ONLY being 'admired' for their long necks. :-)
