Sweet little vinca - easier to grow than draw
I like to add vinca to borders and containers. It's such an endearing little flower, the definition of simplicity and undemanding to boot. But drawing it was a lot harder than I anticipated. This was Moleskin with watercolor pencils, Micron pen and pencil.
I agree - drawing something white is hard. One thing I've found that helps is starting with a toned paper - another you could try (since you like your moleskin) is to draw the area around the white object leaving it as primarily negative space amongst all the colors. Just keep practicing - you're off to a great start.
ReplyDeleteI like this drawing a lot. I also like the Caran d'Ache pencils and the Pigma Micron pen, and I just recently bought a Moleskine. It seems like a good combination if this drawing is any indication. Nicely done.
