On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Breezy weeds

I weeded today. Foxtails are growing abundantly and they're a danger to dogs, besides being weeds. And today it was breezy first and then downright windy and the 'tails were blowing every which way. So I pulled them out in an attempt to create a new border plot under the cherry tree alongside the driveway. It will take some figuring out and lots of practice to know what works there - full shade, part shade, part sun, full sun, they're all in the same plot. The soil is yucky too, no self-respecting plant other than a foxtail would choose that site.

In the meantime, the English daisies I planted in a barrel last week are acclimating nicely.
