On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Still here

I haven't been writing regularly, the habit just isn't there yet. I did take one step forward re my health. Last Tuesday I re-joined Weight Watchers because I have been steadily gaining weight due to a heart problem related to my chemotherapy regimen. Obviously I don't need extra weight on my damaged heart! It felt good to be back -- I've been on WW off and on in the past and believe it to be a very sound weight loss program. I am trying to be more active too which is easier now that I'm feeling better. I walked two miles today, a rather large effort, and one I wouldn't have made if I had been alone.
