The petunias are doing pretty okay too!
I've been transplanting small bedding plants into containers all around the yard, front and back, trying to get everything in place before the heat of the summer hits. Here are some geraniums, salvia and allysum that are next to the sidewalk to cheer walkers as they pass.
And here are the pansies that I planted on April 3rd.
And how they've flourished in just three weeks.
One of my biggest problems is lack of energy or just low energy. So I cope by finding tasks that I can work on for 15 minutes and then stop and do something else sitting down. Today I planted six little marigolds in a large pot. There is nothing quite like summer on its way than marigolds, right?
The pansies I planted two weeks ago are coming along nicely.
We've made it through another winter and it's time to plant for spring. I've barely started and have little garden beds in several places to prepare for the new season. I started with this wine barrel of pansies and other small plants. They look so sweet and delicate now but I know they will become bushy and more spread out in the coming months. It means so much to me to have symbols of life and growth and health and beauty in my everyday presence.
