On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Just shoot me...

I broke my left arm - almost shoulder - on Sunday, two days ago, except that it feels like six months in hell.  The pain is horrific some of the time, manageable some of the time.  I use a lot of Roxanol (liquid morphine) and sometimes I get loopy and scare Steve. I can only be left alone for about an hour - if we both have cell phones on board (we always do anyway).  No standing if I'm alone.  No standing if I'm not alone unless someone is right next to me.  I cannot tell you how awful this is. We go back to orthopedics on Thursday to decide the next step.

I have my own opinion.

  1. I'm so, so sorry you are going through this. I know I can't begin to imagine what it's like. Holding you and Steve in my heart and in my prayers.

  2. I hope that the orthopedics people were/are able to point some helpful ways forward. As always, keeping my fingers crossed.

  3. Drat. Back on the morphine! I hope some of the pain is lessening by now but I know with my son's smashed foot the pain didn't go away quite that quickly. You've been to the orthopedic by now. Hope they could offer some help.

I'm praying for you, and your family.
