On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Home again, home again

I haven't been attending church much during 2012.  There are so many reasons - a real lack of energy, Steve's work schedule taking him far, far away on Sundays, a dislike for the internal wrangling that began after he retired, my own spiritual malaise.

But this morning Steve was officiating back at Trinity, Sonoma, where he was the rector for 10 years.  It was good to be back amongst friends - I still have a strong sense of community - but I wasn't up for medical questions and left immediately after the service.

And, of course, the drawing was so very familiar.
