On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Christmas cookie time

Our local Starbucks holds an annual Christmas toy drive in combination with a cookie decorating event.  Steve decorated the cookies and I ate them! There were several teenagers around - children and friends of the manager - and I tried to draw one but she wiggled nonstop so it's a feeble image.

I'm feeling well today, better than on Day Six of the first cycle.  My biggest problem is low energy, but I have to be strong for tomorrow when I'm with the kids at Juvenile Hall.

  2. I like the division of labor between you and Steve--it sounds like fun! I hope that tomorrow's time with the kids goes well.

  4. Hi Kelley, Hi Rebecca - I enjoyed my time with the girls at Juvenile Hall today. It was a new activity and they seemed to get into it. Thank you both for checking in.
