On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Aaaaah!

Here's my favorite photo of the holiday season.  A staffer at Juvenile Hall raises miniature goats, one of which she decorated as a reindeer and brought in for the kids to hold.  It isn't a plush toy, it's real!

We might finally get some rain tonight, long overdue.  The ski slopes are mostly dry, the local hills are yellow weeds - usually emerald green in December - and we're all watching for clouds.

I'm working today, short hours, but will mostly be home enjoying the in-between-the-holidays calm.  And you?
