On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Muddling through

For two days I've hung out quietly at home.  I walked the dogs both days, but that's the only time I went out.  I didn't go to church or garden or run errands.  I spent a lot of time in front of television with my art homework - a color wheel for a color theory class - and I escaped in books and sleep.

I'm not deeply depressed, but I am down at the mouth, really saddened by this latest diagnosis.  I googled everything I could find on bladder cancer and I sent multiple emails to the doctor to gather up the information I need.

Life has thrown me a curve I wasn't expecting.

  1. I'm listening and can feel your pain and disappointment. I'm praying for you, for your peace of mind, for your doctor and for getting rid of this cancer.

  2. Sorry to hear about this. Keep caring for yourself

  3. Thank you both for your kind comments. I just love the blogosphere! - Barbara
