On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Three-day weekend

My long weekend began today and stretches until midday Monday, Labor Day, when I will go to Juvenile Hall and meet with some kids there.  We're not traveling this holiday so my plans are mostly about ripping through my to-do list and reading, reading, reading.  Oh, and I'll draw too and keep playing with my new Copic markers.  I have two homework projects to complete, but that's just more fun for me.

The weather here in northern California is absolutely lovely.  It was in the 80s today and is forecasted to be similar tomorrow.  This is the kind of weather that sends families to the beach with picnic baskets and sunscreen.

That's much too complicated for me - but, for sure, I'll accept a slice of watermelon.
