On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

15-hour day, almost

I'm at the wind-down part of my week after my 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.  Those are long days!

Every Wednesday I hike with a group as part of my docent training. This week's hike was longer and steeper, but fortunately with lots of stops to look at the habitats we were studying.

The other good thing is that I have almost three hours back at home to recover before a 45-minute commute to a three-hour evening art class.

No problem sleeping on Wednesday nights!
