On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

What's next?

I'm not being very productive these days and it's making me crazy.  I wish Congress would get its act together so I could stop worrying about what's going to happen next. Life is precarious enough without being held financially hostage, that's what it feels like.

Steve and I are working our way through the Monarch of the Glen series from NetFlix.  He could watch several episodes each day but I've rationed it out to one per evening so we've been at it for over a month. What a fun series!  The scenery is spectacular, exactly the way I remember Scotland when we visited a few years ago. At that time I came home pronouncing it the most beautiful country on earth and so far I haven't had reason to change my mind.  Highly recommended - the country and the program!

  1. Isn't it fun sketching outdoors and getting whatever results happen?! I do my best not to even think about the politicking in DC - no amount of worrying will improve the situation. Peaceful thoughts to you!
