On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Summer is a-comin'

A friend brought over a large flat of seedlings - flowers and veggies - so I don't even have to go to the nursery to get started planting this year.  What I do need, however, is a block of time so I can stir up the soil, add some amendments and sink in the plants.

The next part is easy -- watch 'em grow!

  1. Super bird! I've thought about painting one of the crows around my place but haven't yet. I've tried black dogs a couple of times and find black really hard to do. You've done a great job with black here.

  2. Our watercolor teacher is a stickler for black, really discourages the use of tube black so I've learned to mix the primaries to make my own. Sometimes it even works!
