On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Beginning to rage

This bird isn't floating, I just don't have the skills to anchor it!  I was drawing in front of Doc Martin again, my new favorite series.

I'm beginning to hate FaceBook, the latest spam sender to all my friends.  (If you got the stalker message, I didn't do it, honest.)  I went through all the help messages and can't figure out how to delete it, the fake message ostensibly sent by me.   Grrrr!

  1. i think your little birdy is great. maybe all it needs is a bit of shading under the body and under the foot/claw. nice one!

  2. Your bird is wonderful and the rest will come. I'm developing a hate/hate relationship with Facebook. I've had my account stolen and my daughter had to go in and change everything for me. The sad thing is as something becomes popular the Idiots have to come in and ruin it.

  3. I think to anchor him he needs a little bit of darker green behind him and maybe just a touch under him. I wouldn't make a circle around him and I'd probably lighten the green before it is halfway down his tail feathers. This is just my guess though; I'm no expert when it comes to this kind of thing.

  4. I haven't had issues with FB yet, but several friends have. I don't click on ANYTHING except pics that are posted so maybe that's whats saved me so far. Your bird is beautiful - may I suggest some muted background branches to help "anchor" it? That's what I would try. I'd start out really light and then get darker if I liked it.

  6. Your painting suggestions were so helpful. I decided to add a tree and extend the branch. Thank you so much!
