On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Rainy Easter morning

For the record, brown eggs can be dyed for Easter! The eggs our hens lay are so fresh when we use them that I can never peel the shells off hard-boiled eggs. (This was never a problem when we were limited to grocery store eggs.)

So.... knowing the eggs would probably be wasted, I only dyed five - and wasn't sure what would happen if I started with brown eggs. What happened? Well, nothing and everything. They accepted the color - and then I accidently scratched them anyway!

Our day went well. We woke up to rain, but by the time the grandchildren came over this afternoon it was bright and sunny, just the way Easter is supposed to be!
