On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Never better

What a gorgeous day! I was leading tours at the Vallejo Home in Sonoma this afternoon when tourists from Massachusetts were expressing envy for our weather. "Does this  freeze during the winter?" one asked as we stood by a six-foot pond. Never. The most ice I've seen in 16 years is when there was a skim of water frozen on a table that lives on our deck on a very cold and unusual day.

But today was the flip-flop opposite, almost too gorgeous to take in, really something special. I walked three miles, a rarity for me nowadays, but necessary when the sunshine summons.

  1. ...we had a gorgeous day too, but our beautiful weather isn't going to last! We are back to rain tomorrow. At least we had today. I think I would love to live where you do!! :-)
