On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Slow lane

Here in northern California we're just hours away from International Fake Journal Month which begins on April 1st. You may have already begun. I'm still a bit indecisive, but I think I'm going to focus on monsters this year. I mean, it's not my real journal so it really doesn't matter, does it? It's fake, it's all fake, and that's the fun of participating in IFJM each year.

We're setting heat records this week - upper 70's, low 80's - but tomorrow will be ten degrees cooler and we'll re-enter normalcy. Or so "they" say. Nothing seems normal in this time of war and catastrophe.
