On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Oh, the glorious sun!

House Finch
Prismacolor Pencils
The sun is blinding when you haven't seen it for days, weeks (it feels like months). Everyone is more upbeat, walking faster, smiling more, getting yard chores done, bustling around. Forever, it seems, there have been storms, mudslides, falling trees, hail and floods - but today the world is an entirely different place. The temperature was in the upper 60s (F) and tomorrow will be even warmer. Aaaaaaah! Life is great!

  1. We are going to be getting warmer than normal. I'm not sure I want that!

That bird is absolutely terrific. Can I say OMG!? I thought it was a photo at first. I can see the feathers! Even the branch is well-textured. Keep up the good work! Go ahead and put on a big smile - you deserve it!
