On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Going forward

I think it was Fritz Perls who suggested that, when depressed, we should clean our closets. I'm not really depressed, more like anxious, but the antidote works either way. Two days ago I reorganized the art supplies in my office, the ones children use or that I take to Juvenile Hall. I have many multiples of everything - over 20 kindergarten scissors, for example, so everything needs a home or the situation quickly becomes chaotic.

The online hacking has finally ended, I hope. Last night I tried one more time to answer the security question and Bingo! I got it right. So I was able to change my password and set up an easier question (I will probably always be able to remember where I was born).

Yesterday I dusted several shelves of books and made progress in a major cleanup at home. I still have some areas to complete, but progress is progress.

This afternoon I was the guest talking head on a local radio program. A doctor with a particular interest in alternative methods of healing was interested in group therapy and some of the advantages in working in that way. I haven't gotten much feedback yet, but I don't think I was too outlandish and hope it went as well as it seemed to me.

Tonight, I will sleep!

  1. I love your brown containers - are they ceramic? Lots of supplies for lots of fun! I too keep a stock of stuff for kids because I don't want to share my expensive stuff, I'm a bit stingy I guess.

  2. Clutter gone, that pesky password dealt with, I bet you are finally feeling more relaxed. Getting those things done help me too.

  3. Hi you two -- The brown containers are from yogurt. A nearby company makes the yogurt, sells them in the ceramic containers and gives a refund when they are returned. Some day, when I am totally broke, I'll be able to cash them in!

Yes, Timaree, I think the crisis is over but yesterday I learned that a client's email messages were being returned to her, another part I was unaware of. It's probably because there were hundreds of messages in my inbox from the hacking.
