On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Drizzly day in the neighborhood

It either drizzled or rained all day today with only minor breaks. But when I called out, "Who wants to go for a walk?" both Demi and Brix ran to the door and waited for me to put on a raincoat and grab an umbrella.

We walked a bit over a mile - it was only misting most of the time - and waved at the other dog walkers who were also outdoors. But it was the skateboarding dude who was "walking" his labrador in the middle of the street who caught Demi's attention. I could feel the tug on the leash and knew she'd set off if she had the chance. She didn't.

  3. If I skateboarded while walking my big dog we'd be flying. I don't actually walk her with plenty of acres for her to run in as she wishes. I bet she runs up to 10 miles on some days over the course of an afternoon.

I like your bird picture. It feels like spring.
