On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Wrapping up my head

It's been a full day. I facilitated three groups, each one different - a book group for adults, a therapy group for adolescent girls and a recreational art group for adolescent boys. I enjoyed each one - I love Wednesdays - and now I am totally spent!

It's been cooler as our weather pattern is slowly drifting back to normal. We're still ten degrees above average, but next week will be more typical. I've enjoyed the respite and it's good to see more people outdoors - the dog walkers especially - and I also look forward to rain and finishing out our winter.

I'm behind in just about everything. My to-do list is longer than my done list, but I'm working on it. I have one table full of books that is probably going to collapse if I don't 1) re-shelve them in other rooms 2) return them to the library 3) complete the projects that I originally got them for or simply 4) read them and pass them on. Well, you can't say I don't have options!

  1. This sounds like my sort of work, it must be so fulfilling. When I retire I hope to get into this. I love the sketches as well.

  2. I'm not sure how I got so far behind in reading your posts, but I've just spent a wonderful ten minutes or so catching up. (Wasn't really ALL that far behind! :) It sounds like you're enjoying life!
