On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Sad Sunday

It's another chilly day here in northern California with temperatures dropping further tomorrow. And then more rain. (You wanted the weather report, right?)

I'm shocked beyond words about the tragic shooting in Tucson, the subject of many prayers in church this morning - here and throughout the nation. I worry about the tenor of our nation, I really do. I don't recall such a mean spirit in my lifetime, and I've been around for a long time.

One more thing to pray about.

  1. I've been watching the news stations in Tucson. so sad. I have to go to downtown Phoenix tomorrow where the shooter will be arraiged in Fed. court and the gov. is giving her address. Kind of scary. Sadly there have always been people like this shooter and always will be. Thank heaven there are also lots of heros.

  2. Thank you for your post. Sometimes I think that prayer is the only answer.
