On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Rain's done

Trinity Church
Sonoma, California
It rained all night, but now the late afternoon sky is blue and full of sunlight. My plan is to play couch potato for the rest of the day - reading, drawing and catching up on the situation in Egypt.

I was the docent for General Vallejo's home in Sonoma, California earlier today. Tourists were out in droves, enough that I was getting tired of my own spiel. Whenever that happens I know it's time to study some more so I can weave in new information and  stories.

California history is a basic requirement for fourth graders and I'm appreciative when parents make the effort to bring their kids to our many historic sites around that time. I saw several nine-year-olds today and always give them special attention to pique their interest.
