On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

First week, done

Do you remember when 2011 was a new idea? We're already through the first week and might as well begin the countdown to Christmas, it went so fast!

Northern California is exceptionally cold this winter. I'm sure it's not impressive to those of you who experience real winter, but frost on the ground here is something to talk about. Temperatures in the 30s F is not typical. Yesterday's fog on the ground, yes, that's familiar, but chipping the ice off the windshield, not so much.

It's a good time to sit in front of the telly and draw.

  3. Thank you both. I'm just beginning to use colored pencils and other dry materials.
