On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Weather report: Rain, rain, rain

The real rain is starting tonight - as though the last week has just been a series of practice sessions. That's what "they" are forecasting. Steve and I walked the dogs for 2-1/2 miles, something I blogged about here. It was a good day to be out and about and not raining at the time.

I have a bone scan scheduled for tomorrow morning. I requested it because I've been experiencing some significant spinal pain and am always on the watch for a possible end to this extended remission. On the other hand, if I walked my dogs for 2-1/2 miles, how bad can it be? Nine years ago I was using a walker and got around with undiagnosed pathological fractures. Fortunately, I have a high pain threshold, or so it would seem. This time it's probably pain from moving some boxes, slipping in the mud a few days ago, etc., etc. But I have to get it checked out, right?

  1. I sure hope it's just from a fall. Saying prayers for you. Keep up the good work with the watercolor. Merry Christmas!
