On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Sun!

It's a gorgeous sunny day here in northern California, a change from days of rain (with more on the way later this week).  The town has a bustle to it as locals and tourists shop for Christmas.

I baked chocolate chip cookies yesterday afternoon and cooked up a batch of tapioca pudding - neither of which had anything to do with holidays but simply was a way to use eggs! The hens are producing three or four each day now, so the four I used yesterday just broke us even.  I was told they would produce less with fewer hours of light, but I guess they didn't receive that memo. The score, in fact is 23-14 -- the hens produced 23 eggs this week and there are still 14 in the 'fridge.  Hens win!

  1. Nice page of floating heads! (as Dan calls them!)

The eggs sound wonderful! I spend a fortune for organic eggs around here and there no where close to being that fresh! Can you sell or barter with neighbors for the overflow?
