On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Demi-the-Library-Dog

Some kids seem to enjoy reading to Demi so much that I hand over my cell phone/camera to their parents. Later I e-mail the photos to them so they have a keepsake of the day. This beginning reader chose a book that captured Demi's interest as much as his!

A friend dropped off her black lab, Elektra, for the weekend so now we have four, three girls and a boy. The new girl is fascinated by the chickens, but maybe she's never seen one before.

You know how kids always prefer the toys at the other kid's house? Dogs do the same thing. We keep a basket of dog toys in the living room and no one seems to care except for maybe one or two favorites. Five minutes after Elektra arrived there were toys from one end of the room to the other and all four found them exciting!

  1. What fun to have dog company! Better than people company sometimes!
