On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Twelfth day

Rosie is being more productive than I am this sunny Sunday. She, at least, laid an egg right next to the yellow golf ball in her new nesting box. After three escapes, each a little more daring than the one before, Steve netted the top of the chicken run and I bought two official nesting boxes from the feed store. So far, so good.

I'm still laying around and coughing, but slowly -- very slowly -- getting better. I got an e-mail from my grandson, "Nana, I'm sick. I had to stay home from school." -- but he bounced back after just a few days. I haven't walked, as in my usual one mile walks, for two full weeks!

I did give Brix a bath this morning and Youngest Daughter scrubbed Demi and Parisse so if the dogs are laying around with me, at least they're laying around clean. I'm trying not to complain too much since this is the only time I've been sick in 2010. That's fair, isn't it -- one cold per year?
