On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Topsy-Turvy works!

Sometimes it's all about small treasures bringing great pleasure. After we finally got some sun and warmer weather the tomatoes began to ripen. Each day now I bring in a bowl of cherry tomatoes and a few Sunny Boys and something else. I chose all small varieties this year.

Next spring I plan to have a line of Topsy Turvy tomatoes hanging from the edge of the upper deck trellis and call it an old folks' garden and be done with it... and I can't wait!

  1. Yum! That looks good. I tried tomatoes again this year and got a few before the squirrels, birds and rabbits found them. They were reduced to broken twigs overnight and that was AFTER I put cages around them. They were on my porch so I couldn't bury the cages and the critters found out how to get in under the bottom.
